Canalis track system for infrastructure solutions
The success of electric mobility is measured by the expansion of the charging infrastructure. The more charging stations are available, the easier it will be to implement the traffic turnaround. Installers of charging stations but also planners, operators and property owners are faced with the question of which solution can be implemented quickly and easily for them when it comes to setting up and expanding charging points. The installation plays a central role here: While a cable installation is often complex and difficult to install, a rail distribution system makes installation considerably easier. We will show you how our Canalis track system helps to professionally and efficiently implement and prepare charging infrastructure with several points.
Electric mobility becomes easy with busbars
More and more electric cars require more and more charging points. Companies recognize the advantages of choosing to set up e-charging stations at their locations for employees or for third parties. In public spaces, too, a larger charging infrastructure is being built in multi-storey car parks, in parking lots or in underground garages of apartment buildings.
Especially in underground garages with charging stations or wall boxes that are mounted on the wall, the use of a conductor rail makes sense to minimize cable installation and thus save time and costs but also reduce the fire load. With the Canalis busbar system, Schneider Electric has revolutionized busbars for electric mobility: Easy to handle and flexible in its possibilities, the Canalis busbar system is the all-rounder in the establishment of charging infrastructure solutions.
Simply connect charging points or pre-equip installation
Canalis busbars are the alternative to cable installation and a modular system for transporting and distributing electrical energy. In industry, the system is used, for example, in production facilities or logistics centers. In electromobility and charging infrastructure solutions, the busbar system is used when several charging points are to be supplied easily via a supply line or the option of expanding the charging infrastructure should remain, for example in an underground car park of an apartment building, where some parking spaces already have a Wallbox or charging station want to install and others want to retrofit later. With the Canalis busbar, parallel cables are replaced by a common conductor. An outlet grid makes energy available where it is needed, allowing devices and machines to be easily connected to the power grid, even after the track has been installed.
Advantages of the Canalis track system:
Busbars make flexible design of the charging infrastructure possible - even at a later date
The Canalis busbar makes power distribution flexible, because electric charging stations can be easily installed and uninstalled at the outlet grid. Canalis works like a slot system: If you need a new charging solution, plug it in. If you no longer need a wallbox because life has changed, simply remove it. The rail system makes electromobility easier, especially for companies with underground parking spaces or for apartment buildings. Owners are now obliged to provide loading facilities depending on the size of the property. For example, if you rent parking spaces to your tenants and a tenant moves out, you can easily connect the free wallbox to another parking space.
Save money with tracks for e-charging stations
The track saves you money in the end. As the owner, you must, for example, have empty pipes in underground garages ready for a possible retrofitting of charging infrastructure. If it really comes to retrofitting, it costs the installer a lot of effort to work with the empty pipes. These costs add up high. In the case of the busbar as a plug-in system, the retrofitting costs are significantly lower due to the reduction in the number of hours required for manual work.
The conductor rail reduces the risk of fire
By using a busbar in the charging infrastructure, you also save insurance premium. A cable solution entails a significantly higher risk of fire than the comparable rail system. Canalis is also halogen-free: no toxic fumes are emitted in the event of a fire. Insurance companies have now also recognised these advantages: The premium for a rail solution is significantly cheaper.
The busbar reduces power loss
In addition, the power rail minimizes the power loss of the energy – which also saves money, because they reduce the power loss and thus the electricity costs. If significantly more current is lost in the line and charge process in a multi-cable solution, the power loss in a busbar is lower.
